Foggy
Last night’s cityscape was ridiculously cool. I was heading over to south side around 10PM to partake of some evening festivities and it was bright outside. The fog had rolled in earlier that day and was hanging so low that the lights of the city seemed trapped. I felt as if I was strolling along inside a gigantic night light, only the glow wasn’t so much emanating from a single source as it was infused with the mist. It was probably a bright night above the haze as well, augmenting the effect, but the weather was so pervasive that even the tops of downtown Berkeley’s higher buildings were obscured (and they’re not that tall).
All in all it was a very surreal effect, and managed to keep me entertained for the duration of my walk. It’s nice to know that even an urban setting like this one can sneak up on you every once in a while and unleash some really captivating scenery.
