Sierras & Berkeley, Summer 2007

The morning of departure. It was before 7AM; this smile was forced. Early morning hours and I don't get along so well. Skip ahead quite a few hours, and we're packed up and at the trail head. Marshall wants us to bask in his glory, or something. Dad and I at the trail head, ready to go (those packs are heavy!)
My little brother. So hip, so cool. I, by comparison, seem somewhat goofy. After a quick break, Dad works to get his pack back on (they really are heavy).
Marshall stops to get a view of something behind us. Whereas Dad has the great view behind him. At last, camp is found, made, and pajamas are donned for the evening.
Dad steps down to the lake for a bit of evening fishing. Marshall later does the same. Here's a nice view of camp, Ledge Lake (below camp), Saddlerock Lake (below that), and myself, freshly awoken and groggy.
Here's a better view of the two lakes below our camp. And an obligatory scary picture of me after having put on my PJs that evening. Dad and Marshall preparing to head out for a day of fishing and day hiking.
